Peter Fonda is still cool despite his age. Check out the trailer below for The Perfect Age for Rock ‘n’ Roll, a music-themed drama film also starring Kevin Zegers and Jason Ritter.

The film is directed by Scott Rosenbaum and written by Rosenbaum and Jasin Cadic. The supporting cast includes interesting names like Lukas Haas, Lauren Holly, Kelly Lynch, and Billy Dee Williams.

The title refers to 27, the age at which Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, and Kurt Cobain all died. So I’m loving the concept and I am totally digging the cast, but the trailer really sucks. Every great rock-n-roll movie needs a great soundtrack. Every trailer for every great rock-n-roll movie showcases it’s soundtrack in the trailer. This trailer doesn’t, so that worries me. Here is the official description for the film:

According to rock ‘n’ roll lore, the age twenty-seven is a fateful milestone. From Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Robert Johnson, Brian Jones, Jim Morrison and Kurt Cobain, were all were shooting stars, felled in their prime, at the age of twenty-seven. In this film, childhood friends come face to face with the perils of rock and roll. Lust, drugs and passion all confront them on a cross country road trip that compels them to answer their demons of the past, present, and future. A Rock Star, Spyder, whose debut album is a huge hit, retreats to his small hometown when his sophomore effort flops. Back home, seven years later Spyder reconnects with his long lost best friend, Eric, the writer and one responsible for the music on the first album. Eric, the son of a late great punk rock guitar legend, has since settled into the sedate life of a suburban middle school music teacher. The reunion forces the two, to recall their youthful ambitions and reexamine the choices they’ve made. Accompanied by a raucous crew of musicians, they set off on a cathartic journey along historic Route 66 that brings them closer to each other, their destiny and their fate.
