Trailer: ‘House at the End of the Street’ brings us Jennifer Lawrence, scream queen

Seems like 2012 is the year critically beloved starlets get to take a left turn into straight-up genre fare for kicks. As with the Elizabeth Olsen vehicle Silent House, the generically-titled House at the End of the Street was shot some time ago – the summer of 2010, to be exact – and only makes its way to us after its star, Jennifer Lawrence, has become a public fixture. That didn’t work out so well for Silent House (though Olsen’s jittery turn won her some plaudits), but maybe Lawrence’s movie will fare a little better. Elisabeth Shue co-stars in this gothic maybe-chiller, which seems to feature a whole lot of backwards motion and, of course, cleavage. Hope for the best and check out the new spot below. The movie’s out in September.
