Trailer: I’m Still Here

Joaquin Phoenix is on the journey from retirement to bad rapper in the Casey Affleck directed documentary I’m Still Here.

After watching this trailer, I’m not quite sure to expect, other than lots of crazy happenings and even more interesting insights into an actors life after retirement.

The below synopsis doesn’t give much information.

I’m Still Here follows Oscar-nominee Joaquin Phoenix as he announces his retirement from a successful film career in the fall of 2008 and sets off to reinvent himself as a hip hop musician.”

I haven’t personally seen much of his work beyond Signs and Walk the Line, but what I have seen I thoroughly enjoyed; Leaving me wondering why someone with such a promising career would make such a strange decision, and dying to find out.

To add to the already strange and wonderful atmosphere, a source has noted that the film will feature Phoenix “snorting cocaine, ordering call girls, having oral sex with a publicist, treating his assistants abusively and rapping badly.”

While this teaser trailer for I’m Still Here leaves you with more questions than answers, it’s definitely worth checking out.

This movie is set for limited release September 10th of this year, hopefully I’ll be able to see it.

Yes, it really does, doesn’t it? Too crazy to be true.
It will be interesting to see what comes out of this as far as the Publicity Stunt business goes.
