Trailer: Jodie Foster’s ‘The Beaver,’ With Mel Gibson

Ever since the audio recording of Mel Gibson’s hate-filled tirades towards his ex-girlfriend ended up online, Summit Entertainment wasn’t sure how to handle Jodie Foster’s new film The Beaver.

Well the company recently announced that the film would see a wide release in spring 2011, and they have finally released a trailer.

The film follows Gibson’s character, a lonely jerk who befriends a puppet which proves to be an unlikely form of therapy. I’d like to think this is either some sort of bio-pic of the actor and/or his crazy rant will work in the films favour. Here is the synopsis and you can watch the trailer below. Enjoy.

Two-time Academy Award(R) winner Jodie Foster directs and co-stars with two-time Academy Award(R) winner Mel Gibson in THE BEAVER – an emotional story about a man on a journey to re-discover his family and re-start his life. Plagued by his own demons, Walter Black was once a successful toy executive and family man who now suffers from depression. No matter what he tries, Walter can’t seem to get himself back on track…until a beaver hand puppet enters his life.
