Neil Jordan’s (The Crying Game, Interview With the Vampire) latest film tells the tale of an Irish fisherman named Syracuse (Colin Ferrell) who one day catches a woman in his net who he believes to be dead. She awakens and he, along with his daughter Annie, decide to keep her around. The luck of the family gradually improves and it seems as though this mysterious woman is more than just a blessing in disguise. However, tragedy soon strikes, and with tragedy comes some unwanted strangers. The film looks like a faerie tale along the lines of something like Edward Scissorhands or Lars And The Real Girl. It also looks like it could be a tearjerker.
