‘Transparent’, the new Amazon series from Jill Soloway, gets a trailer and release date

Transparent

The past few years has seen a rise in online streaming content, as services like Netflix and Yahoo have begun to create their own original content as well as pick up shows cancelled by networks. Amazon has similarly diversified into the streaming market, with their own twist; they often release a number of pilots online, letting their viewers vote on which of them shall get a series order. One of the successful pickups from their last set was Transparent. Created by Jill Soloway, who has previously written for Six Feet Under and United States of Tara, as well as writing and directing the 2013 feature Afternoon Delight, the series stars Jeffrey Tambor, Melora Hardin, Gaby Hoffmann, and Jay Duplass. The show focuses on the trials and tribulations of a family as the patriarch comes out as a transgendered individual. Amazon has now announced that the series first 10-episode season will be made available in its entirety on September 26th. A trailer for the show has also been released, and can be seen below.
