2009’s In The Loop made waves in North America for its sharply comedic look at politics; however, British television fans were well aware of the film’s director and co-writer Armando Iannucci from his show The Thick of It, which shared characters with the film. In the last television season, Iannucci turned his focus from British politics to American politics with HBO’s Veep, focusing on the office of the Vice President and her staff, and the associated issues they go through. With a cast that includes Julia Louis-Dreyfus as titular veep Selina Meyer, and Anna Chlumsky, Matt Walsh, Tony Hale, and Reid Scott in supporting turns, the second season is set to make its premiere on April 14th, and HBO has released a new trailer for the season, which can be seen below.
