Among the most well-known cinematic characters of the 80s is Indiana Jones, an adventurous professor played over three films during the decade by Harrison Ford, with Steven Spielberg directing each film. Ford and Spielberg once again returned to the franchise in 2008’s Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, the end of which suggested that the reins of the character would soon be passed off to a younger counterpart, in a similar vein to 2015’s Mad Max: Fury Road.
Now, as part of the promotion for its upcoming Red Nose Day fundraising marathon, NBC has released their own take on the franchise, with Pitch Perfect‘s Anna Kendrick donning the iconic fedora as “Indianna Jones”. In a riff on the all-female lead casting of Paul Feig’s upcoming Ghostbusters reboot, Kendrick recreates the chalice selection scene from 1989’s Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, putting her own spin on it. The video can be seen below, and NBC’s Red Nose Day will be held on May 21st, beginning at 8 pm ET.
