The HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones has, over the course of its run, garnered a reputation for numerous key characters dying or being killed off, despite their apparent importance to the narrative. While this is a storytelling aspect the show shares with its source material, the A Song of Ice and Fire fantasy book series from novelist George R.R. Martin, it has nonetheless become one of the more identifiable aspects of the series since its first season.
One character who has survived, however, is Tyrion Lannister, played by Peter Dinklage. As part of the promotion for NBC’s charity event Red Nose Day, Dinklage has now sung a song boasting about Tyrion’s continued survival in the series despite the death of other characters that fans had similarly gotten attached to. NBC has also released a video showing the cast of Game of Thrones practicing for a musical version of the series with Coldplay. Both videos can be seen below, and NBC’s Red Nose Day airs tonight, beginning at 8 pm ET.
