Before the days of computer-generated imagery, hand-drawn images were the primary means by which animated features were made, and few were better at the endeavour than Disney studios. One such effort was the 2012 short film Paperman, a hybrid of hand-drawn and computer-generated images that screened in theatres ahead of the video game feature Wreck-It Ralph.
