The James Bond franchise has been one of the longest-running in cinema history, going through numerous decades and lead performers to become a recognisable touchstone in the film landscape. The latest actor to take on the titular role has been Daniel Craig, who is poised to return for his fourth go-round in the upcoming entry into the series. Titled Spectre, the film will be the 24th Bond feature, and will see Sam Mendes once again step into the director’s chair, reprising the job he had in 2012’s Skyfall. The film’s synopsis is as follows.
A cryptic message from Bond’s past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organisation. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind SPECTRE.
Joining Craig onscreen once again will be Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, and Naomie Harris, with Christoph Waltz, Andrew Scott, Dave Bautista, Monica Bellucci, and Léa Seydoux as the newcomers to the series. The film is set to open in American theatres on November 6th, and ahead of its premiere, a new trailer has been released, which can be seen below.
