While Damon Lindelof has been known for a number of movie screenplays over the years, including Prometheus and World War Z, his most prominent effort to date has been the ABC television series Lost. The writer returned to television last season, this time on HBO with an adaptation of Tom Perrotta’s novel The Leftovers, with the writer also involved in the tv adaptation. The series quickly gained critical and commercial success, both for the show overall and for individual performances.
The show will be making some notable changes for its second season, shifting castmembers such as Liv Tyler to potential minor roles while adding Southland‘s Regina King on as a regular. The biggest change, however, will be a shift in the location, as the central family will be stepping out of Mapleton to go to Jarden, Texas. Justin Theroux, Carrie Coon, and Christopher Eccleston will all be returning, and the first teaser for the second season has now been released. The show will make its second season premiere on Oct. 4th, and the teaser can be seen below.
