Watch the first trailer for ‘Homeland’ Season 5

Claire Danes

Among the numerous critically and commercially acclaimed series on Showtime is the anti-terrorism drama Homeland. The show has garnered praise for a number of aspects, including the performance of lead actress Claire Danes, and many were excited to learn that it would be returning for a fifth season. The synopsis for the upcoming season is below.

Premiering this fall, Homeland will pick up two years after Carrie Mathison’s ill-fated tenure as Islamabad station chief. Struggling to reconcile her guilt and disillusionment with years of working on the front lines in the “war on terror,” Carrie finds herself in a self-imposed exile in Berlin, estranged from the CIA and working as the head of security for a German philanthropist.

Danes returns in the lead role once again, joined by Mandy Patinkin, Rupert Friend, and F. Murray Abraham. Ahead of the fifth season’s arrival, the first trailer has now been released by Showtime, and can be seen below. Sound on Sight’s own reviews of the show can be read here.
