White House Down

Filmmaker Roland Emmerich has made a name for himself in the Hollywood action blockbuster genre, with numerous hits to his name, most notably 1996’s Independence Day, which helped establish Will Smith as a credible leading man. Emmerich, however, has not had a film open in the traditional blockbuster summer season since 2004’s The Day After Tomorrow, an anomaly that he looks to correct with his next feature. Titled White House Down, the movie is written by Zodiac screenwriter James Vanderbilt, and stars Channing Tatum, Jamie Foxx, Jason Clarke, Richard Jenkins, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and James Woods. The first trailer for the film has now been released, and can be seen below.
