The X-Men franchise has been cited by many as being on the leading edge of the current cinematic superhero boom, as director Bryan Singer’s X-Men and X-Men 2 were both commercial and critical successes. Thus, many were excited to learn that Singer would once again be stepping into the director’s chair for the franchise’s upcoming installment, picking up from where Brett Ratner and Matthew Vaughn had left it. Titled X-Men: Days of Future Past, Singer works from a script by Simon Kinberg, and works with a full ensemble that includes Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellan, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Shawn Ashmore, Ellen Page, and Peter Dinklage. The first trailer for the film has now been released, and can be seen below.
