Zuckerberg Donates to Newark Schools

The New York Times is reporting that Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook, will be donating $100 million to the public school system of Newark. Zuckerberg has no actual connection to Newark, being born in Westchester County and currently living in California. He is not the first celebrity to donate money to the schools, but this is his largest public gift to date. Mark Zuckerberg, Governor Chris Christie and Mayer Cory A Booker will announce the donation on Oprah this coming Friday.

Mark Zuckerberg is coming to the big screen October 1st in David Fincher’s The Social Network, being played by Jesse Eisenberg. Interesting to note that this donation has been made so close to the film’s release. It reportedly portrays him as more of a negative character, if not an outright selfish jerk
