Stewart has been behind the chair on The Daily Show for the past 12 years with the show’s success spawning off spin-off comedy talk shows from Stephen Colbert, Larry Wilmore, and John Oliver. Now, the replacement for Stewart is in question with Colbert heading to CBS to take over The Late Show for David Letterman, Wilmore just starting his own show, and Oliver’s Last Week Tonight doing well over at HBO.
While still hosting the show, Stewart has begun to branch out from it with the most recent example being his directorial debut with Rosewater last year.
