Over on his official blog, Bay has announced the go ahead on Transformer 3 claiming they have a “great story” and that he’s currently en route to Rhode Island with screenwriter Ehren Kruger to chat up Hasbro and figure out which new robots will make their way into the third installment.
He said on his website: “Today is Day One. This morning started with an ILM meeting for five hours in San Francisco. Currently I’m flying with writer Ehren Kruger to Rhode Island to talk to Hasbro about new characters.”
He also found the time to jokingly address Transformers starlet Megan Fox, who had recently claimed the set was unsafe in a recent interview, promising her that no alien robots will harm her in any way during the production of this motion picture.
TF3 is set for 2011, and Megan Fox, despite some very public insults traded between her and director Michael Bay, will indeed return for the sequel.
