With all the comic book adaptations coming out this year, one has to wonder which films stand a chance at actually cashing in at the box office. Thor opened big with over 60 million on opening weekend, but with Captain America, X-Men First Class, Green Lantern and Cowboys and Aliens all released within a span of four weeks, one of these pictures will surely suffer. With that said, I still think each film will make a significant profit to justify more sequels. The following graph displays just how much money DC and Marvel comic book adaptations have made between 1978 and 2010.
