Exciting First Images At The “Back To The Future” Video Game

A few months ago we reported that Telltale Games was preparing to release a series of new episodic video games based on the Back to the Future franchise. At the time Telltale Games hadn’t yet divulged any details of the storyline for the upcoming video game. However IGN recently had an interview with Telltale’s co-designer Mike Stemmle who discussed the story for the first instalment and also provided some screenshots from the game itself.

“The story in the game is completely new, set several months after the events of the third movie from Marty’s perspective. Of course, this is a story that involves time travel, so who knows where it’ll end up? We’re working with Bob Gale to make sure we’re delivering an authentic experience. There’ll be numerous recognizable elements of course – the Hill Valley town centre, the clock tower, the DeLorean, Doc’s lab, and quite a bit more”.

Telltale announced its intention to revive the classic 80’s films as a video game series earlier this year. Through a licensing agreement with Universal Studios, the maker of contemporary adventure games also has a Jurassic Park title in the works. The new Back to the Future game, planned for all major platforms, will feature Christopher Lloyd reprising his role as Doc Brown and Lloyd will likely be recording new dialogue. Unfortunately Michael J Fox was unavailable so newcomer A.J. LoCascio is voicing Marty McFly. The first game (which is released next month on PC and Mac, later on for PS3 and iPad) will follow the further adventures of Marty McFly, and take place six months after the end of Back to the Future Part III.

Recently Sound On Sight Radio dedicated an entire hour to the Back To The Future franchise. It has already climbed its way to the top of our list of most popular podcast. Take a listen.
