Adolf Hitler is back in Germany? He is for a movie at least.
Deadline reported on Wednesday that Constantin Film is going undercover for Look Who’s Back, its big-screen adaptation of Timur Vermes’ bestselling novel that imagines the return of Adolf Hitler to modern-day Germany.
The twist is that Look Who’s Back will be filmed in the mockumentary, hidden camera model popularized by Borat. Newcomer German actor Oliver Masucci will portray the notorious Nazi in real-life situations across Germany, and already reaction to the “pre-shoots” with Masucci as Der Fuhrer has spread virally across the country.
The book that the film was based on was a best-seller and went on to sell 2 million copies in Germany and was published in more than 40 countries around the world.
Look Who’s Back is anticipating an October 2015 release in its home country of Germany.
