We just had to share this video with our readers. It is pretty silly but also pretty incredible. The footage comes from a 2010 Indian science fiction film called Enthiran. Fans of spectacular action sequences similar to what you see in Terminator Salvation and The Matrix will absolutely love it.

The film is co-written and directed by S. Shankar, and is reported to be the most expensive film ever made in India. The movie features Rajinikanth in dual roles, as a scientist trying to control his android,  and also as the android itself. The film has been in production for eight long years but was both critically acclaimed in India, and also a box office sensation (the second highest grossing Indian film of all time).

Since I also speak the same language as the original version of this film, Tamil (Not Hindi as Slumdog Millionaire), I would like to share some facts and thoughts. Tamil cinema is one of the Regional cinema of India.

The lead of the film, Rajnikanth(61) is one of the most “worshiped” actor in India even though he only commits one film every 2 years on an average. Media reports, he is the second highest paid actor in Asia, next to Jackie Chan, which is impressive for an actor who doesn’t have much of international audience following.

The director of the film, Shankar is one of the most technically innovative director of India. He will be the one who always to introduce Hollywood stuff in Indian cinema like High end make-ups, Time freeze, motion capture. The film scored by Academy award winner A.R. Rahman, who is a long time collaborator of Shankar.

As you said this is the most expensive film in India at the moment(App $40 mill) and earned almost twice world wide.

Coming to the content of the film, this is an INDIAN Sci-Fi film to cater INDIAN crowd. This is not a mind bender like Inception or thought provoking as the MOON. Easily can fit into a Hollywood B movie category but its definitely fun to watch.
