Joseph Gordon-Levitt Will Star In “The Dark Knight Rises”

Deadline has confirmed something that has been rumoured for quite some time – star Joseph Gordon-Levitt is set to reunite with Christopher Nolan in the director’s upcoming superhero film, The Dark Knight Rises. It is still unknown as to which role he will play, but rumour sites have been suspecting that Hugo Strange is part of the story. The actor was previously rumoured to be playing The Riddler for much of last year, but Nolan has put that idea to rest. Production on the film is expected to start in May. So far, the actors cast in The Dark Knight Rises include Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy and presumably the previous members of the ensemble cast such as Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine.

In the meantime Joseph Gordon-Levitt is scheduled to star in Rian Johnson’s Looper which started shooting last month, and the actor is also set for work in China.

The Dark Knight Rises is set for a July 20, 2012 release date.
