‘Terminator: Genisys’ re-sets the clock for a new trilogy

He’s back and he’s resetting the clock! Is that a good thing? Who knows.

The first trailer for the reboot (but not really) of the Terminator franchise is here with Terminator: Genisys. The film brings back Arnold Schwarzenegger in his star-making role and includes a host of new faces like Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) as Sarah Connor, Jason Clarke (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) as John Connor , Jai Courtney (Divergent) as Kyle Reese, and Matt Smith (Doctor Who) in an undisclosed role.

The official synopsis is “The year is 2029. John Connor, leader of the resistance continues the war against the machines. At the Los Angeles offensive, John’s fears of the unknown future begin to emerge when TECOM spies reveal a new plot by SkyNet that will attack him from both fronts; past and future, and will ultimately change warfare forever.”

Terminator Genisys opens in theaters on July 1, 2015.
