The Top Five Shows We Can’t Wait To Watch This Fall

AmericanHorrorStory

5-American Horror Story

If you’ve yet to tune in to Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuck’s show American Horror Story, now’s your chance to catch up before the newest season kicks off this upcoming October. One of the more unique shows currently on air, each season acts as a new story. A new era, new location, new characters… but same familiar cast. Season one followed the story of the Harmon family in the murder house, season two took place in Briarcliff Asylum, and season three is said to center on a witch coven. So grab your popcorn, turn off the lights, and brace yourselves for American Horror Story; Coven.

HowIMetYourMother

4-How I Met Your Mother

Going on to its 9th season, and coming in at number four on this list, is How I Met Your Mother. The show centers on a group of friends as the narrator, Ted Mosby (as portrayed by Josh Radnor), tries to find love in the big city. We follow him and his friends through their best moments and their biggest regrets. While the show’s become slightly stagnant these last few seasons, the big moment is finally here; Ted is going to meet his future wife (that audiences finally got to see in the season eight finale). And after a summer of anticipation, season nine promises to be full of excitement, and slap-bets that audiences have come to know and love.

DoctorWho

3-Doctor Who

What does time travel, David Tennant, Matt Smith, the TARDIS and a bunch of fangirls (and boys) have in common? How about the 50th anniversary special of Doctor Who. Third on our list is the story of a time traveling alien who sails through the universe saving people, and planets alike, with the help of his companions. Celebrating fifty years this upcoming fall, the show is one of few that children and grandparents alike have fallen in love with. The fiftieth anniversary special promises to reveal new secrets about the Doctor, while bringing back old friends. You can look forward to it this upcoming November.

TheWalkingDead

2-The Walking Dead

Maybe it’s their shuffling, their moaning, or the way they rip people to shreds, but there’s something about zombies that brings everyone together. And much like the flesh eating monsters of this show, The Walking Dead has brought people together over many a water cooler. Focusing on a group of survivors post zombie-apocalypse, this show is about living in a time of loss. It’s about what it means to be human in a dying world. Last season left us with more dead than living, more twists and turns than we could have hoped for, and the unshakable sense of impending doom. So grab your crossbows, put on your cowboy hats, and brace yourselves for the fourth season of The Walking Dead.

BreakingBad

1-Breaking Bad

Unsurprisingly finding itself at the top of the list is Breaking Bad, a program more addictive than the show’s ever present crystal meth. A story about Walter White, a chemistry teacher turned drug dealer, the show is more explosive than the meth lab he works in. His development from an innocent teacher, to a drug lord willing to kill in cold blood, is what compels audiences. Combine that with a plot that has people glued to the edge of their seats, and it’s no wonder that AMC has people counting down the days until the second half of Breaking Bad’s season five this upcoming fall.

And just in case you’re wondering what to do with yourself until the fall, there’s always the 8th and final season of Dexter to look forward to, which airs June 30th.
