Henry Cavill is Officially Superman

While Cavill was rumored to have auditioned for the lead role in Batman Begins, he has confirmed having never screen-tested for nor been offered the role. Henry was also the cause of a write-in effort of fans to see him cast as Cedric in the 2005 Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. The role went to Robert Pattinson. Cavill also auditioned for the role of Superman in Superman: Flyby and was attached to the film under McG’s direction. However, when McG pulled out, Bryan Singer took over the project and cast Brandon Routh as the lead role in the retitled Superman Returns. Well now it seems the actors bad luck is behind him.

Warner Bros. has just announced that Henry Cavill will be taking on the role of the Man Of Steel in Zack Snyder’s upcoming Superman film. Synder told the press, “In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time, and I am honored to be a part of his return to the big screen. I also join Warner Bros., Legendary and the producers in saying how excited we are about the casting of Henry. He is the perfect choice to don the cape and S shield.”
