Angelina Jolie to Direct Bosnian War Film

It looks like Angelina Jolie is set to follow in her ex-husband’s footsteps (Billy Bob Thornton) by taking a stab at directing.  Jolie, who has worked with such directorial legends as Clint Eastwood and Oliver Stone, is set to direct a Bosnian love story during the Bosnian War of 1990.  According to THR, the film is set to be shot in Eastern Europe this fall with a budget of less than $15 million.  Jolie plans on using Bosnian and Serbian actors, although the film will be primarily in English.  The film will be backed by GK Films, Graham King’s company.

This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.  Jolie is well known for her humanitarian work and it doesn’t surprise me that she would choose this as her directorial debut.  I am eager to see what it turns out like.
