While David Krumholtz’s most prominent television role to date has been in the CBS show Numb3rs, the performer has also displayed an adeptness in comedic roles, from movies such as Superbad to guest appearances on Don’t Trust the B in Apartment 23 and The League, as well as a leading role in the short-lived sitcom Partners. Krumholtz’s next project will see him dive into comedic waters once again, as IFC has given a straight-to-series order for his new show, titled Gigi’s Bucket List.

The first season will consist of eight episodes, each episode being half an hour long, and will make its premiere on IFC later in the year. Krumholtz is slated to play the titular character, a 76 year old woman named Gertrude Rotblum, aka Gigi, who comes across a secret stash of millions and decides to use it to gain experiences she missedo out on previously. Ricky Mabe will co-star in the series as a nurse.

IFC had this to say about the series in its press release.

IFC is joining Gigi on her ultimate adventures with the newly greenlit comedy, Gigi’s Bucket List, starring David Krumholtz (This Is The End,Numb3rs, 10 Things I Hate About You).  Gertrude Rotblum, aka “Gigi,” just lost her beloved husband Harold, but has gained a new lease on life with the help of an unknown bank account discovered in his will. Eight half-hour episodes start shooting this June in Los Angeles. The show will premiere later in 2015 on IFC.

With her dead husband’s secret millions, this 76-year-old yenta with a heart of gold and a razor-sharp tongue sets out to experience everything she deprived herself of in her younger years. Gigi (Krumholtz) will live life to its fullest and fastest while ignoring doctor’s orders and turning the stigmas of aging on their head. She will travel to rock festivals and explore new technologies like online dating, with her trusty male nurse sidekick played by Ricky Mabe (Goon, Zach & Miri Make A Porno) along for the ride.

This will mark Krumholtz’s first leading role on television since the aforementioned Partners. An iteration of Gigi can currently be seen on Weather From.
