‘Human Centipede 3’ gets a synopsis and release date

It doesn’t get too much weirder or gross in terms of horror/torture porn movies than The Human Centipede, does it? Just the thought of people being surgically stitched together at the mouth and, *ahem, other end, dreamed up by writer/director Tom Six, is still horribly disturbing.

Despite that, the movie has a cult following, and a third film and final has been planned. EW exclusively unveiled Wednesday the release date and synopsis for The Human Centipede Part 3 (Final Sequence). Arriving in theaters and on VOD May 22, Final Sequence will take place in prison and feature a Human Centipede 500 people long. Here’s the official synopsis via EW:

Bully prison warden Bill Boss (Dieter Laser), leading a big state prison in the US of A, has a lot of problems; his prison statistically has the highest amount of prison riots, medical costs and staff turnover in the country. But foremost he is unable to get the respect he thinks he deserves from his inmates and the state Governor (Eric Roberts). He constantly fails in experimenting with different ideas for the ideal punishment to get the inmates in line, which drives him, together with the sizzling heat, completely insane. Under threats of termination by the Governor, his loyal right hand man Dwight (Laurence R Harvey) comes up with a brilliant idea. A revolutionary idea which could change the American prison system for good and save billions of dollars. An idea based on the notorious Human Centipede movies, that will literally and figuratively get the inmates on their knees, creating the ultimate punishment and deterrent for anyone considering a life of crime. Having nothing to lose, Bill and Dwight create a jaw-dropping 500-person prison.

Leave it to a horror movie to tackle the ever-important topic of American prison reform. Dieter Laser and Laurence R Harvey are returning from the previous films, but Final Sequence is now adding Eric Roberts and adult film star Bree Olson.

My thought with a 500 person Human Centipede is this: one puppy, or maybe three puppies, is really cute. 500 puppies is just a lot of puppies. They’re still cute, but after a certain point… you know.
