Charlie is coming back to find new angels and he will get help from a Pitch Perfect alum.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony is set to reboot Charlie’s Angels with Pitch Perfect 2 director/producer/star Elizabeth Banks directing and producing the picture. The last version of the series starred Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, and Lucy Liu with McG directing.

Angels, a hit television series in the 1970s, centered around three detectives — played by Farrah Fawcett, Kate Jackson and Jaclyn Smith — who worked to solve cases for a mysterious benefactor named Charlie, while also joshing with their sidekick, Bosley, THR reports.

Banks was linked to the adaptation of Red Queen for Universal after helming the sequel to Pitch Perfect, which went on to be a boom at the box office again to the tune of $184 million domestic. She also is used to comedy and drama with a resume that includes roles in Wet Hot American Summer and The 40-Year-Old Virgin but also Love & Mercy and Little Accidents.

No word whether this interferes with Red Queen or Pitch Perfect 3, which has a green light but didn’t have Banks attached.
