Vdrome is my favourite new discovery. The online platform offers regular, high quality screenings of various films and videos during a limited period of time. What makes Vdrome so special is their selection of videos, all of which lie in-between contemporary art and cinema, and directed by visual artists and filmmakers from around the world. From March 31st – April 9th, the programmers have selected Apichatpong Weerasethaku’s Vampire, and M Hotel – both films are introduced by Andrea Lissoni:
Here is the film info:
Vampire is a dreamlike journey in search of Nok Phii, a strange mythical bird that feeds itself on the blood of other animals. Nok Phii lives, or has lived, between Thailand and Burma.
M Hotel is a portrait of a hotel. Two boys take pictures in a room. But the sound deeply disturbs the vision, opening terrifying narrative scenarios.
