One of the largest and best documentary film festivals in the world, Toronto’s HOT DOCS just announced its full line-up which includes dozens of premieres both locally and internationally. For nearly two decades—from its humble origins as a small indie film fest screening non-fiction films in bars and coffee shops, to its current status as the largest film festival of its kind in North America—Hot Docs has marked the unofficial kickoff to the Toronto spring/summer film fest season. And, this morning, Hot Docs drew back the curtain on their eighteenth instalment. The festival starts on April 28th and runs to May 8th, and we will be there to cover the event so expect more coverage in the weeks to follow.
