The Spike TV Scream Awards, dedicated to horror, sci-fi, and fantasy, has just announced the nominees for the 4th annual award show. Aside from questionable nominees like Twilight and Transformers 2, many of the smaller genre pictures Sound On Sight has championed in the past year made an appearance in one of the several categories. These films include Splinter for best horror film, Drag Me To Hell, nominated for the Ultimate Scream award, and Moon for best Science Fiction movie. The links below will lead you to the Sound On Sight episode when we reviewed the movies. Take a listen and let us know if you agree with our views. Below I have also indicated our picks from the list of nominees. Enjoy!

In the mean time you can also head over to their site and cast your vote.

    Winona for best cameo!

Your selections were pretty good overall but since my all-time favorite movie was Star Trek, I have to say that Zachary Quinto should have either been best actor or best break out actor. I love Chris Pine but I don’t get why he was nominated for break out actor and Zach was not. Zach just came out of nowhere. Many things were done right with Star Trek but it would never have been as successful without Zachary Quinto. The Spock character was central.

Zach doesn’t fit into Hollywood’s nice little nitches as easily as some actors which is part of what I love about him. He’s a terrific actor and this is a major oversight.

Patrick Stewart’s cameo was unexcepted to me so my vote goes to him. I’m so happy that Evanna Lynch finally has her first award nomination, she was great in Half Blood Prince.

Sound on Sight got it right. Let the Right One In should win most if not all categories. Excellent movie. I think the cat scene from LTROI should have been introduced instead of the swimming pool scene. You guys have good taste ;)

  5. Jamie says

Why should Arnold Schwarzenegger win? He wasn’t even in it! They put his face on someone else’s body! That shouldn’t even count! Plus Helena Bonham Carter should win best villain, she’s amazing as Bellatrix Lestrange.

Well none of the cameos were exciting so I gave it to Arnie.
